Nestled within a secure gated community just minutes from Playa Junquillal, La Junglita offers easy access to local dining, adventure tours, and some of the area’s most beautiful beaches. Playa Junquillal is known for its incredible sunsets and relaxed surf scene, with its dark sand shoreline stretching into the soft white sands of Playa Blanca — the perfect balance of beauty, tranquility, and coastal charm.
Playa Junquillal is one of the quieter stretches of Guanacaste’s Pacific coast. You get long, uncrowded beaches and big sunsets without the traffic and nightlife of Tamarindo, which is about 30 minutes up the road when you want a busier day out.
La Junglita sits on 1.25 acres inside Tierra Pacifica, a 75 lot gated community with security on site 24 hours a day. Playa Junquillal is about 1.5 miles away, about 35 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car, and it’s home to the VerdiAzul sea turtle hatchery.
Getting here: most guests fly into Liberia (LIR), about 80 minutes from the villa by car, on paved road all the way to our gate. We recommend renting a car (an SUV is best, since many beach roads are dirt) so you can explore Playa Blanca and Playa Negra, stock up on groceries and plan day trips at your own pace.
Inside the gates: your stay includes Club Arbol, the community clubhouse with a three tiered waterfall pool, lap pool, jacuzzi, gym, tennis court and BBQ area. Back at the house you have your own private lounge pool, A/C in every bedroom, a full kitchen and room for up to 8 guests.

Playa Junquillal and Playa Blanca are both about 5 minutes from the villa by car. Playa Junquillal is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) away, roughly 35 minutes on foot. Playa Negra, Playa Avellanas, Playa Langosta and Tamarindo are all within 5 to 35 minutes by car, so you can try a different beach every day.
We recommend renting one, and an SUV of any size is best because many roads around the beaches are dirt. A car lets you reach the beaches, restaurants, grocery stores and day trips on your own schedule. If you would rather not drive from the airport, we can connect you with trusted airport shuttle companies, and if you plan to stay close to the villa, we have a great golf cart rental contact.
Most guests fly into Liberia (LIR), which is about 80 minutes from the villa by car. The road is paved all the way from the airport to the entrance of our gated community, which is not a given in Costa Rica.
Yes. The villa has 200 Mbps Wi-Fi, fast enough for streaming, video calls and working remotely.
La Junglita is inside Tierra Pacifica, a gated community with on-site security 24 hours a day. Every guest shows government photo ID at the gate, and only guests registered on the booking are allowed in. Valerie, our local manager, meets you when you arrive and is available throughout your stay.
The dry season runs from mid November to the end of April. The rainy season, which we call the green season, runs from May to November and is our personal favourite: the jungle is at its most lush, mornings are usually sunny and showers tend to come in the afternoon. The heaviest rain falls in September and October.
Up to 8 guests in total, including children and infants. Only guests registered on the booking can enter the gated community. There are three bedrooms with queen beds, plus a king size sofa bed in the living room with a luxurious mattress topper. Many guests tell us the beds are some of the most comfortable they have slept in. A Pack n Play is available on request.
Yes, children are welcome. There is a baby crib and a high chair, and kids love the private pool and the monkeys that visit the trees almost daily. The gated community also has a basketball court and a jungle gym playground for kids.

Check-in is after 4:00 PM and checkout is before 10:00 AM. Valerie, our local manager and host, meets you when you arrive, shows you around the house and property, and gives you your code for the smart lock. She is available on WhatsApp throughout your stay.
Pets and smoking are not allowed. Parties are only allowed with prior approval.
